FTWeekend Vote!

Okay, I want to theme this weekend. I have two choices. BG or Raid Instances.

Let's go over the brief pros and cons: (Yeah, I did this before, but no one reads it anyway)

BG:

+I can get some exciting pvp footage
+I might get my old rank of Sergeant back, or even better!
+Reputation with the factions = nice gear

-No money
-No drops
-Potential lengthy wait time

Instances:

+I can make fairly good money
+I can level up to 60
+I might get some good drops

-Getting into a group
-Might take a very long time to complete an instance, and I can't take breaks like in BG
-Chances are low that I'll get any good gear

Well, those are some of the pros/cons on my mind. So, based on that, and whatever other tips you might have, what do you think I should concentrate on this weekend?

that's tough. I'd go with instancing myself (though setting aside the time would be tough) for one reason only...

EXP.

Until they start giving out experience for 'effort' on BG - working your ass off for 0 exp is *no* fun.

Honestly, I'm not in a real hurry to get to lvl 60. I reached lvl 59 last night during my first (on this server) BRD run, and it was fun, but I think one of the drawbacks everyone has when they reach 60 is that there's no more leveling (which literally removes one of the goal-reaching aspects of the game, and the one you have from the very beginning). When I got my warlock on LB to 60, I quit after just a few days. I was so bored. The fact was, my guild had prodded me into grinding to 60 as fast as possible. I think it took me less than two weeks to get from 50 to 60. What I lost out of that was a lot of game content and interesting quests that I would have done at earlier levels with the anticipation of experience and fun. At 60, exp is worthless (perhaps not in the future), and the rewards are many levels behind.

I suppose what I ought to do is go on lower quests with lower level people who need them. That'd be the selfless thing to do, and I'd still get the content.

HOWEVER, once you hit 60, you are constantly pestered with invites to this and that instance raid. And when the pestering is coming from your own guild, it's hard to refuse more than a few times without getting booted.

I think I might just end up playing it by ear. Probably will do the AV quests to get in there, and then wait in the queue while collecting herbs or something while looking for targets. I dunno, I may just sleep all weekend.

sleep sounds good...sounds damn good actually.

Seeing as how my highest level character is only level 32 (I have too many damn alts to go up fast) - I don't have the same problems you do.

You know - a *third* option is to create an Alliance character on Shadow Council and come hang out with the DR ;)
